Did you/do you have a relative who had/has some interesting war memorabilia?

I have Finnish war medals from the Winter War and Continuation War the Finns fought against the Russians from 1939 to 1943. I have a scrapbook of shoulder patches a relative collected from returning servicemen during WWII.

I have a letter written by my Uncle to my Mother when he got injured in WW2. I also have a postcard of Hitler he brought back. I had someone translate it at work, just a bunch of propaganda. My Dad saved a bunch of newspapers from WW2, one of which I had signed by a WW2 vet who's photo was on the front page, and the person who found him at a POW camp. For a while, I took my kids to meet any WW2 vet we could.
Nope.
Neither my father nor my mother fought in any war and, going back many generations, none of them had relatives who fought either.

@hartfire They were fortunate.
@ProfessorPlum77 In some ways, yes. Dad, born in 1902, was too young for WWI and too old for WW2. He did work in intelligence during the latter, and Mum knitted merino soldiers' socks and drove American officers while they were on leave in Brisbane.
Dad was a pacifist and would have willingly gone to prison or kneeled to be shot rather than fight to kill others.
The strange contradiction was that he was no pacifist at home, was often brutal to Mum, and once I stopped him drowning her in the pool.

Some people can be so incredibly hypocritical and unaware of it!

@hartfire It is eye-opening how some people can be so contradictory. Incredible!!!

No I have piece of currency from Germany that my uncle brought home after WWII. It was basically worthless by the time he got it.
