I don't believe any of the reports saying Iran is going to give up due to the economic damage from the blockade

It's not the Iranian people who are attacking commercial vehicles, it's the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. They are getting well funded from the Strait tolls and probably foreign governments, they are in no danger of going bankrupt. And they don't really care whether the wider population is starved or bankrupt

Islamic Fundamentalist are in total control of the government in Iran. They may agree to a cease fire but they will not surrender. America hasn't won anything. We will probably return to the same conditions that existed before Feb 27. It has all been for naught.

Iran appears to be betting that they can handle the pain of a blockade better than the US can handle the pain of high oil prices. They may very well be right.
