Explosions reported in temporarily occupied Crimea, air defence responds in Sevastopol

Explosions were reported in temporarily occupied Crimea on the night of 27-28 April, and Russian occupation authorities in Sevastopol said air defence systems were active.

Source: Krymskyi Veter (Crimean Wind) Telegram channel; Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Kremlin-appointed "governor" of Sevastopol

Details: Krymskyi Veter reported explosions in various parts of Crimea on the evening of 27 April.

It reported a powerful explosion in Sevastopol after midnight on 28 April, where an air-raid warning had been issued.

Razvozhayev later claimed that air defence systems were responding and that aerial assets had been downed.

Quote from Razvozhayev: "The military is repelling an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Sevastopol, with air defence systems and mobile fire groups deployed.

Early reports indicate that three aerial assets have been downed in the areas of the Severnaya Storona and the Balaklava district." [Pivnichna (Ukrainian) or Severnaya (Russian) Storona is a historic area of Sevastopol on the northern shore of Sevastopol Bay – ed.]

Ukraine seems to have focused a lot on taking out air defencd systems across Crimea over the last few months. Will be interesting to see what develops

there is so much other news that people don't even think about Ukraine these days. what a mistake to ignore it!
