War no longer forges nations. It eats them.

Russia and Ukraine continue to fight. Russia is importing more migrants to fill labor shortages. When Ukraine stops fighting, they will have to confront the reality of having no women to birth children and no men to work. Empires and wars destroy nations. Empires lead to influx of other peoples, and wars make our governments import other peoples. Who wins?

The call to defend Ukraine is no different from the call to defend Poland in 1939. Why defend a nation thousands of miles from your own, at great cost to your country? Was the destruction wrought upon your nations worth the effort to “save” Poland from the Germans?
@emiliya the USA coup of the democratically elected Yanakovic government of Ukraine in 2014, and the subsequent US lead civil war in Ukraine keep slipping out of the memory in the West.

Are you saying we should have let the Nazis successfully complete their invasion and subjugation of your country?

Was our blood and treasure worth it just to "save" the Russia from the Germans?

I say it was.

Apparenly, you'd rather prefer the goose step.
@beckyromero the USA entry into WWII didn't defeat the Nazis.

Where did you hear that from? Joachim von Ribbentrop? Or was it Alfred Jodl? Wilhelm Keitel perhaps?
@beckyromero For example, Joti Brar, a pretty good historian and head of the CPGB talks about the actual role of the US in both world wars. The USA has a fake version of the Good War, you stick with that. I'm not interested in your bibliography.

You don't have to know that communist armies battled fascism. Just don't.

I've never denied the heroic suffering of the Russian people nor of its military for its part in defeating Nazi Germany.

But you are deluding yourself into thinking that Russia could have defeated Germany on its own.

It was US and UK aid that prevented Russia's defeat at the most critical point in the war.

If the swastika was flying over the Kremlin in early 1942, there would have been no memory of the "Great Patriotic War."

Russia's salvation at that point would have had to rely on the U.S. atomic bomb project in 1945.

@beckyromero What does Russia have to do with you? What does Ukraine have to do with you?

Are you Superman, here to save everyone from the villains of the world?
@beckyromero if the USA had let the troops in Europe run out of food, a cease fire and end to hostilities with regime change in Germany was likely. But whatever! Keep that good war good. Rations imposed on Americans to avoid peace can be sold as a sacrifice. I said, stick with that and go ahead with fake hated obvious lies as Western history. You are too late.
@emiliya we're all global citizens. What happens in one place effects everyone. But Westerners want to deny this AND rule that globe.

@emiliya You would have preferred a Nazi empire in Europe?

She certainly has side-stepped (or should I say "goose-stepped") around that question.

@Bumbles “You would have preferred a Nazi empire in Europe?”

A fit and healthy Göring would have made a great leader.
