What is happening in Syria

The Syrian regime is losing ground so fast to the Armed Opposition and this time Russia, Iran and Hezbollah are all busy with their own issues and wars, Syria's Alassad might have to figure this out on his own and some say he might not make it this time! Even his own faction and inner circle are losing trust in him.

I'm honestly a bit confused about what exactly is going on and some resources say that ISIS are doing some things in the background and Syria is about to explode again.

A couple things. A coordinated assault by various NATO countries via proxies. Turkey in particular.

And it seems someone in the high command of the Syrian Army betrayed their country. Because they first pulled out their best and most experienced units and deployed them elsewhere over the last few months. And then someone within the army essentially ordered a surrender as soon as things kicked off.

Pretty sure in a few months we might find out that a top general suddenly had a bunch of CIA money in their bank account.
