Recent developments in Syria

The Syrian rebels overran most of Aleppo this weekend. Not much is said about current western support given to Syrian rebels, but we can be sure they are still heavily supported by US and UK. The CIA helped the rebels with a number of operations in the past. They probably helped them with this operation. Until US and Israel stop interfering in the Middle East, there will be war in the Middle East. It is up to Iran and Syria how they govern their countries. Turkey should back off too.

Under Obama rebels were supported. If that has stopped, then the U.S. needs to get out of Syria. We may have a few hundred there. Get them out.

No. The Obama administration pursued a strategy of enabling a "secular" opposition, trained, helped with recruiting, and financed them. They could not, however, recruit more than a few days people. They fizzled fast.

The US is not involved in supporting these rebels.

Trump semi stationed US troops in the oil region of Syria, because he wanted the US to get the oil. Putin positioned his army and mercenaries, next to the US troops. Under Biden we kept these troops to make sure the Kurdish region is protected.

@soar2newhighs US has around 1000 troops in Syria. This “surprise” rebel advance has CIA written all over it.
