Can Nato launch an assault that drives Russia back out of Ukraine?

Because the alternative is permanent teritorial gain for Russia.

Not to mention China is already taking notes for 2027/2028 when it comes to Taiwan, given Trump's transactional relationship with defence pacts.

No. The EU 's economy just isn't any where near ours. Nor Russia's.

Taiwan is a slightly different story. There's no way we can get up to speed in the microchip industry. Trump is saying he will.

That's insane talk.

Nvidia just overtook Intel's place on the Dow Jones a few days ago. Nvidia gets it's chips from Taiwan. AI depends on those chips. Not to mention everyone's cell phones.

China will try to take advantage of that. Trump will probably allow Chinese Hong Kong cellphones. We don't now.

China will then push EVs from Mexico. Trump will try to bargain with Mexico and fail once again on the wall, because Mexico doesn't want to offend the Chinese.

There's not a darn thing Mexico can handle the cartels with from South America either.

So China will take Taiwan. In the meantime we will have another microchip shortage. Yes Trump was responsible for the last microchip shortage because of covid. Why he is insanely talking about boosting the microchip industry. No corporation is big enough now on USA soil. Intel was the last and even Nvidia it took decades on Taiwan to develop them.

@DeWayfarer Oh they'll cannibalize Russia, give it time. The untold reason why the EU/US send aids to Ukraine with the dropper is that a potential collapse of the Russian federation would inevitably result in China moving its western border to the Urals...

@Elessar Becky and I had this discussion over a year ago. It's not Russia that China wants. Both of us agreed on that.

It's the bering straits that China wants with access to Alaskan resources.

Alaska is untouched by the USA still.

@DeWayfarer If the opportunity presents they want stay idle

As opposed to US/NATO gain? The facts are this war was started entirely by the US/NATO.

Unified EU army and/or unified EU nuclear arsenal with a NATO-like agreement for mutual defense + fast tracking (west) Ukraine into the EU would be more feasible: it'd be de facto as if Ukraine had nukes again.

We'd already have ~350 (iirc) French nukes if Macron accepts something like this. And knowing his positions he would probably consider it. More if Britain joins.

I hear there is going to be a 800 zone, where Russia will be taking 800 miles into Ukraine, to avoid Ukraine ( NATO AMERICA) ever having the chance to attack Russia again, by moving right up to the Ukrainian border with Russia
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
@ididntknow This war was started when Russia moved on to another nations sovereign land. The "reason" for it as if all wars post 1945 have had any legitimate reasons, was Nato creep I agree. But that doesn't excuse anyone from violating a border like a thug.
ididntknow · 51-55, M
@Longpatrol Russia moved into Ukraine to stop Ukrainians killing Russian civilians living in Ukraine, you only know half of the story, if you’ve got Amazon prime, on tv, look up Ukraine on fire, that shows you the whole build up to the war
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
I mean technically but the entire reason its a proxy war not a direct war is the whole destroying the world in a nuclear war thing.
msros · F
They are content fighting a proxy war by arming Ukraine.
Territory gain for Russia is a good thing
In a word, no.

And nobody is going to start a nuclear war over what is left of the US proxy in Ukraine.

And well Taiwan only exists at all because the US meddled in the Chinese civil war because it was strategically useful to colonize Asia.
