The noiseless war against us all

ArishMell · 70-79, M
@WalterF I thing you are reading far too much into things.

Of that random list in that image the only two really I do have serious concerns about are autonomous vehicles, purely for engineering and road-safety reasons; and AI for its potential effects on the creative arts and for political or social malfeasance.

"Digital" i.d. from birth? Well, how do you think the NHS, HMRC, Work & Pensions etc. now keep our numerical identities they have always given us? It's not even punched cards these days. I don't know if you mean those implanted chips, but some people do seem to want them. They can, not me though! I am not a cat!

On-line censorship? What sort of material do you want allowed? If we can make life far harder for real criminals, wreckers and mere bullies, good!

The so-called "Internet of Things" appears to cover devices like domestic appliances and heating systems you can control from a "smart"-'phone; but you do not need buy or use those. Though if you think you "need" a so-called "smart"-speaker and a Facebook / Meta account you may as well give up worrying now!

Do be careful. You might make us all paranoid! :-)

@ArishMell I might? or THEY might?

(To anticipate your question, "they" are immeasurably rich, self-glorifying, pompous, ambitious, controlling men, who like to be known as "stakeholders".)

one CME and it all goes bye-bye
