I wonder how many A-10's the USA have trained and given to Ukraine? Bet its a lot.

Most American badass US fighter plane ever produced you think we're going to retire it? Its the fucking Sherman Tank.

I've read that there was push back against it bc the jets would be too vulnerable. Sure, it's a durable plane, but it's for battlefields where air superiority is already established

Its biggest attribute to any field would be close fire support.

The Warthog is deadly on the battlefield. Slow speeds........high maneuverability....devastating firepower.

@anythingoes477 and very vulnerable to enemy AA missles - it would be a turkey shoot for the latest russian technology
anythingoes477 · 31-35, M
@tindrummer Domt underestimate the Warthog. Ive seen it in action.
tindrummer · M
@anythingoes477 I repeat - against the latest russian weaponry - or anything even close?

According to a military FB page that I get regular updates from, the answer to that question is none. But they probably should.

I don't understand why we are not giving them A-10s or F-16s.
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
I can’t stand how the US is holding back aircraft. How about some A-6s too.

I know we said we aren't committing any troops to the fight, but how much you want to bet we've got some special ops guys in there? Like top secret, highly trained killers? They wouldn't tell us until it's over.

None.

Moreover:

... He asked for 100. Austin, he said, again replied it was “impossible” and “made no sense.” The planes, Reznikov said he was told, were old-fashioned and slow, a “squeaky target” for Russia’s formidable air defenses. “This was understandable to me. It was reasonable. I said okay,” Reznikov recalled, throwing up his hands in mock surrender ....

It's not unthinkable that the F-35 will replace the A-10 ... just as the USAF originally planned.
