Does anyone else think the Russian failures at the start of the war unlikely to be due to miscalculation alone?

Even if it was expected they would just capture the capitol in days, why would they have tanks without infantry support, could they really have been that stupid?

In Putin's grandiose memories of the Good Ol' Days, Hungary's Freedom Fighters caved and fled in exile at the sight of Soviet tanks rolling down the streets back in the 1950's.
