My, how far they've come?

Bernie Sanders spent his entire career Being anti war but just voted to send 40 billion to weapons manufacturers in Ukraine.

But nary a word about the larger issues at home (baby formula for example)?

It took an entire career to become the thing his younger self would have despised, a war profiteering sell out.

Usually when people on the left say they're anti-war, they don't literally mean that we should all be pacifists and surrender to any invading force. Usually, they're referring to the senseless wars where we are the aggressor, such as Iraq or Vietnam, which Bernie has consistently railed against. In fact, there's a pretty good argument to be made that arming Ukraine is the anti-war position, since it deters Russia from starting further wars and greatly slows the one they're currently waging.

And frankly, it's absolutely ridiculous to refer to the baby formula crisis as a "larger issue at home." So far, 4,619 Ukrainians have been murdered in the Russo-Ukrainian War, about 10,000 have been injured, and Ukraine's infrastructure has taken damage on a scale that would make even the staunchest of libertarians weep with anger. It's upset the balance of power in Europe, international norms against wars of conquest against foreign countries. The Russians are believed to be driving mobile crematoria around Ukrainian cities to clean the dead civilians off the streets, that's how fucking serious this is. I agree Sanders should probably address this, but AOC sure has and the comparison is beyond reason anyway.
Intentionally or not, you are totally misrepresenting Bernie Sanders' stance on war. He is NOT a "turn the other cheek" total pacifist. He lost much of his family in the Holocaust and he never suggested we shouldn't fight a tyrant like Hitler. Bernie opposed wars of choice like Vietnam and Iraq, and he was in good company doing so.

And now we face another tyrant that Bernie says we should oppose. I find him agreeably consistent. Meanwhile, your brand new account looks like a troll account. Does Putin pay you in toilet paper rubles, comrade?

@ElwoodBlues - it's good to have a cause 🤗

@Yetti Sadly Stalin's and Hitler's and Mao's mass murder come from the same root. What's more that root is not dead and gone. It is alive and living in the philosophy of people like wormwood - er - elwoodblues

@Yetti
how damn important is it
Very, very, damn important.

The lying, murderous, autocrat putin invaded a sovereign democracy, and his barbarians then set about murdering men, women, children, and babies, while his orcs targeted schools, hospitals, and apartment buildings.

The neurotic putin has destroyed russia, turned it into a global pariah, expanded NATO... all to build the immense wealth he and his gangster cronies controlled.

I say controlled because there are superyachts (including putin’s), bank deposits, property, etc., now frozen, and about to be used to finance Ukraine’s fight against the barbarians.

Иди на хуй, россия

Слава Україні!

There's two bills that just passed the House and are on their way to the Senate addressing the formula shortage, and Biden has invoked the Defense Production Act to increase manufacturing, so what exactly should Bernie be doing about it that's not already in the works?

@Yetti Define acting concerned. Also, you might want to look up what war profiteering actually is, because it’s not “sending aid money to a nation being invaded”.

@OggggO - I see where you get your news from based on your response. Enjoy the midterms.
@Yetti I see where YOU get YOUR "news" from the fact that you think a dictionary is somehow suspect.
Where is your evidence that he will profit from helping Ukraine in a fight we definitely want them to win...?

Do you judge helping Ukraine NOT to be sound foreign policy?

Not sure this one falls under 'war profiteering.' In any way. And Sanders obviously voted in favor of the Access to Baby Formula bill which passed and is awaiting Biden's signature. I'm not a big fan of his because I think he sells grievance and the idea of magic wands to the impressionable. But I think you're stretching a bit on this one.

Look outside and all around. You'll see all you need to to answer your doubts about diminished resources and tough times.

But I don't care who you voted for. Just what you said. Simple. Yes, I am easy to please 🤪

@SW-User Actually, our "stock" has risen a LOT, internationally, with Biden being part of the global movement against Putin's violation of international norms.
