Controversial opinion but.

Ukraine isn't the only war going right now.

There's a civil war in Ethiopia and unnecessary bombing by Saudis in Yemen and killing kids there.

Why has this war affected you more than the other wars? Cause the people involved are white-ish?

See, all wars are bad. It's just so sad seeing normal people suffer. But, imagine supporting sending weapons to ukraine and pressuring Russia when your goverments are already doing full business with Saudis.

I'm not comparing wars. Every war sucks and should never happen, including when the Americans tried to control the middle East. I'm just pointing out the underlying racism.

There are no good guys in a war. It's always the civilians who suffer. This time, the civilians are considered white.

@BlueVeins what's a tankie?
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@BlueVeins Two things can be true at the same time.

One of them is that Putin is an aggressive expansionist autocrat who is bent on recreating Russian glories of old.

The other is that NATO and Joe Biden in particular wanted this conflict no matter how many Ukrainians died.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@BlueVeins And if you call me a tankie I will fuckin' laugh, communists kill people with my politics and always have.
Doometernal · 26-30, M
@CountScrofula he will be shocked when he realises that , assuming he will.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@CountScrofula There's no evidence of that and even if there was, what you're describing is a thought crime at worst. Ukraine chose to join NATO knowing that Russia might use it as a pretext for war. Probably good on their part, since Russia could just invade anyway, and it'd be a lot easier without all those weapons donations and sanctions.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@Doometernal "This is the good war" shit is so dangerous. People are flocking to Ukraine to volunteer only to find that they get their passports torn up so they can't leave, and they get sent to the front lines as cannon fodder because this is a total war for survival and jingoistic cheerleading gets people fucking killed.
Doometernal · 26-30, M
@CountScrofula yeah.

War is bad, always has been.

Sending weapons implies you are sending people who considered surrendering before. In fact, whatever happens in future, there will be lot of weapons lying around. Weapons equals serious destabilization.

And literally , ukraine issue was solved diplomatically 10-12 years ago but America broke the rules . It amazes me that they think they're the good guys.
Doometernal · 26-30, M
@CountScrofula btw leave that kid alone. He still learning about geo politics. 🤪
BlueVeins · 22-25
@Doometernal Uh huh, 'cause god knows only people who are new to geopolitics believe in such things as national sovereignty and self determination. Meanwhile, you've been citing a treaty that literally does not exist and claiming that the US broke it (which is somehow justification for Russia to invade a third country). And of course, you completely ignore other treaties that actually do exist like the Budapest Memorandum.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@Doometernal And you keep pretending that surrendering to Russia would somehow protect Ukrainian civilians, even though Russia killed millions of Ukrainians last time it controlled the country.
Doometernal · 26-30, M
@BlueVeins regarding sovereignty.

There was a deal made 10-12 years ago that protected all of not most Ukraine's sovereignty.

Read about it and who violated it.

I can keep on talking but i figured out that you are a good guy with good intentions but needs some knowledge as to what's going on.

All i can say is that treat your opinions with your personal bias filter.

I am closer to ukraine situation than what you assume. I did have someone who lived there and i screamed at em to come back cause i said that war will break out because Russia has no choice. They still say I saved them.

I know what's going on and how everything is so muddied .
Doometernal · 26-30, M
@BlueVeins surrendering is not the point.

And also Russia's officals know that they don't want a destabilized country at their borders because of the immense economic cost

Ok let me put it this way. Ukrainian government and ukrainian civilians are two different things.

Either way. All i will do is help you learn geopolitics better by pointing out the resources needed but i will not waste my time regarding this
BlueVeins · 22-25
@Doometernal Russia terminated the Kharkiv Agreement in 2014, what are you talking about?
Doometernal · 26-30, M
@BlueVeins do more research.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@Doometernal If surrendering isn't the point, then what the Hell is? If you don't want Ukraine to be able to defend itself and you don't want Ukraine to surrender, then what do you actually want?
