A senior NATO military officer says the alliance estimates that Russia has suffered between 30,000 and 40,000 battlefield casualties in Ukraine through the first month of the war, including between 7,000 and 15,000 killed. It is NATO’s first public estimate of Russian casualties since the war started Feb. 24.

It's a time-tested Russian strategy.

Back in WWII, they used to give every other infantryman a rifle, and send them in, with a row of political officers in the rear, to shoot anyone who tries to retreat.

@TastyfrzzThey suffered 1,100,000 casualties to take Stalingrad, but take it they did. That's the kind of disregard for human life, to obey a dictator's orders, that they specialize in. If it's any clue, whenever anyone asks: WTF is Putin thinking?
