Could You Protest People Please Stop Getting Hurt?

[image/video - please log in to see this content]

C'mon guys, it's not a game and you don't know the rules. Protest all you want but if you push boundaries you don't understand you can get your ass in a bad but predictable predicament.

Be safe, get training. If your trainer says to interfere with police of any description, get a different trainer.

C'mon guys, it's not a game and you don't know the rules.

What "rules" did Pretti break again? ... Was he not silent enough when the border patrol guy (who in my opinion failed his instructor if ever had one) was bashing a cannister of mace on his head, when a bunch of others were holding him down?
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@Kwek00 the rules are simple, don’t insert yourself into a chaotic situation that you're ill equiped for.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@GerOttman So the rule is apathy towards injustice?

What "rules" did Pretti break again?
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@Kwek00 he engaged at close quarters with an armed officer. don't do that! it's dangerous you could get hurt.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@GerOttman No, he helped someone up, that was being bullied by an armed officer.

What rules did he break?
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@Kwek00 I just told you, pretending to not understand is a weak argument. try again.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@GerOttman It's not really a weak argument when you are saying that someone "breaks rules" and the best you can come up with is that you shouldn't interfere with law enforcement at all... mr "happy libertarian that was pushed into evil clutches". 😅

@Kwek00 and when reason and logic fail, go directly to juvenile name calling. great, im talking to a 12 year old.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@GerOttman You have no logic and no reason. You just take the administrations postion. You are nothing but an enabler of the "evil clutches" that you were "driven into". You don't even have agency about yourself, because other people can make you do things like seeking comfort in "evil clutches". You are nothing GerOttman, nothing but a guy that smells his own farts, takes the position of the team he allied himself with without thinking about it and that feels smart because there is always some scapegoat to blame for your own short commings.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@Kwek00 are you crying? stop that! got an issue, here's a tissue!

you want to stand on a sidewalk with a sign, go nuts. you want to engage with law enforcement like some kind of revolutionary cosplayer, you can get really hurt really fast. you have a lot to learn about how to be an adult.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@GerOttman No, I'm holding up a mirror. But I understand that's really difficult for you to comprehend too. Mainly, because you have to look at yourself and have some self criticism... and that just doesn't excist in a pretentious person like yourself.

I'm sorry, but these people believe in something. They believe that a segment of the poppulation needs to be protected from the xenophobia of the administration. That's why they stand outside.

You on the other hand, believe in nothing. You are morally bankrupt.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@Kwek00 believe all you want. don't pick up stray flash bangs, don't put hands on a cop, don't drive your vehicle at a cop. adults know this why don't you?
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@GerOttman This has nothing to do with believe... you have several years of really bad takes on this website. We don't need to believe, we just need to read and deduce.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@Kwek00 which sounds perfecty safe to me. keep doing that while at the same time avoiding interfering with law enforcement.

Any idea why those officers were there in the first place? What were they doing exactly?
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@GerOttman Yeah, what were they doing there exactly?

However, I'm way more curious what Pretti did wrong... since that's the real victim of the story.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@Kwek00 as I said, he got involved in a situation he didn't understand. his action and his actions alone led to a very unfortunate outcome. the outcome was entirely predictable and preventable.

all your chatterboxing and arm waving on the internet can't change the fact that the guy is dead. he's going to stay dead for a long time.

Don't Do That!!

Stay safe, stay sane, stay alive! You can protest better that way.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@GerOttman an "unfortunate outcome"? Wow...

I guess it's "rioters" for peacefull protesterors
and "unfortunate outcome" for people that get murdered

Funny how that works...
But I understand... because you are morally bankrupt.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@Kwek00 no I'm not but you may be mentally bankrupt.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@GerOttman What ever makes you feel good about yourself. Because that's all that it is 🤷‍♂
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@Kwek00 a guy is still dead and no one should feel good about that. all your deflections and distractions and unhinged ranting can't change that.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@GerOttman The guy is dead, because a federal agent murdered him... and your prescription is that "rioters" shouldn't interfere in lawenforcement. Because interference can never happen in a peacefull way, it's always violent in nature. And that's what we need to take from this... don't interfere or get murdered and it's the victims fault.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@GerOttman It almost feels that this was written for you:

First, I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season." Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.

I had hoped that the white moderate would understand that law and order exist for the purpose of establishing justice and that when they fail in this purpose they become the dangerously structured dams that block the flow of social progress. I had hoped that the white moderate would understand that the present tension in the South is a necessary phase of the transition from an obnoxious negative peace, in which the Negro passively accepted his unjust plight, to a substantive and positive peace, in which all men will respect the dignity and worth of human personality. Actually, we who engage in nonviolent direct action are not the creators of tension. We merely bring to the surface the hidden tension that is already alive. We bring it out in the open, where it can be seen and dealt with. Like a boil that can never be cured so long as it is covered up but must be opened with all its ugliness to the natural medicines of air and light, injustice must be exposed, with all the tension its exposure creates, to the light of human conscience and the air of national opinion before it can be cured.

- Martin Luther King Jr., Letter from a Birmingham Jail (1963)

I guess you didn't learn much from your history.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@Kwek00
Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will.

That's you! And that's why people are getting hurt.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@GerOttman You don't get the irony of your last responds... because that requires selfreflection. And you don't have that.
GerOttman · 70-79, M
@Kwek00 and the guy is still dead. reflect that!
