What do you think about this whole "plus size" model phenomina thats happening? Theyre trying to cancel Jordan Peterson for it

Ridiculous. I see it as manipulation. Trying to force an ideal on society that overweight/obese is a good thing, when it is unhealthy and not attractive. Of course the extreme the other way is just as bad. It's not a good thing to force on the impressionable minds of the young.

Somewhere in the middle would be a far better representation.

I don’t have a problem with plus side modelling. Particularly as plus size women are very common, we can’t just not cater for them.

Some people find thin people attractive and some people find fat people attractive, so we have both thin and fat models. Jordan Peterson insulted her, so a bunch of people insulted him back. If what they're doing is "canceling," then so is what he did to her. He can dish it, but he just can't take it, and that's why I have so little respect for the man.

Nobody is forcing anyone to be attracted to that model. Peterson himself decided to get involved. 🤣

He was mocked, not cancelled. He said he would leave Twitter but then didn't.

His arguments on this are dumb anyway. The model in question is much closer to a healthy female than the swimsuit models who normally appear here.

Being overweight is definitely your personal choice. It's going to shorten your life and make you less healthy, in most cases, but if these gals want it to seem normal, they will make it normal. They're greedy and aggressive and dishonest-. "Plus Size" -. Why not"Fat and Obese"sizes if it's okay? It's not.

I don't have a problem with it unless I am being shamed for preferring to look at women with a more classical hour glass figure.

He statement was odd because he was criticizing a reaction before it happened.

He could have said he didn’t find her beautiful, but why imply no one else could. I find that model quite beautiful.

Also, I understand he criticizes people for being too sensitive, but then he quit Twitter over people responding , so the whole thing seemed absurd.

It's a delicate subject, because I find most women to be super insecure about their looks in general and bodies specifically. There's someone interested in EVERY body type, and yet we shouldn't send out the message that being unhealthy is OK(in extreme circumstances). I married a plus-size woman years ago, so I was front-and-center for the struggle. It was always "as long as you're healthy" but the psychological/self-image takes a toll as well.
