I don’t have a problem with plus side modelling. Particularly as plus size women are very common, we can’t just not cater for them.

@CakeByTheOcean with all due respect, this is exactly the problem im talking about.

@CakeByTheOcean I agree with your conclusion, but I don't think catering to fat women is the reason why we need/have all these fat models. Models ultimately exist to sell photos of themselves, be it through social media, magazines, calendars, etc., and in order for that to work, there's got to be a segment of the population that's attracted to them. The studio's job isn't really to cater to the models, so much as to the consumers, you know?

@BlueVeins and ALSO, what if theres a little girl out there, say 12 or 13 years old, who might be on the borderline of being fit or fat, and THEY see these overweight models on the cover of magazines? What kind of example do you think thats going to give them? Theyll just think "oh well, i guess its cool for me not to take care of myself, because SHES on the magazine so maybe i can be too if i gain weight" forget this gaslighting crap

@MntoNc Teenage girls overwhelmingly struggle with anorexia and teenage boys overwhelmingly struggle with compulsive exercise. If we wanna address teenagers' body image issues, we should probably start by insulating them from modeling culture altogether, such as banning the exploitation of sexuality in advertising. I'm sure modeling organizations are bad for people's views of their bodies, but we don't have to become fucking puritans just because some people who shouldn't be viewing it are choosing to do so. By that logic, we should also ban beer.

@CakeByTheOcean I’ve always found plus size women attractive. It’s just what I like. 🤷♂️

@CakeByTheOcean yeah you can. It's wrong to be so fat and they should not get comfortable with it at all. Never
