Are there stores or restaurants you don’t go to anymore because they got too expensive?

There’s this açaí bowl place I like and have been going to for years, but I just went today and found out the price of the bowl went up $4 from when I was here last in November. That’s just insane. I can’t see this place lasting much longer. :(

They're not "expensive", but when Goodwill started raising their prices it kind of made me stop going there on principal. I mean the whole point of Goodwill is to drastically reduce the cost of things because they're donated. So when they raise prices to pretty much the same as any Walmart...I get suspicious. 😒
Don’t go to restaurants. Cook at home.
@Coralmist The last time was for a post funeral colation…I had coffee. Wasn’t paying but coffee was my comfort.
See, I can buy food. It will last a few days and what I pay for it might be equal to what I might pay for one meal in a restaurant.

@soar2newhighs I cook at home all the time, but certain things I can't replicate at home. This was always pricey, but now I think I'll be cutting it out of my life. Just how things go sometimes.
@SW-User Yes, there are things we can’t possibly replicate for various reasons. But if there is such a dish , being I enjoy cooking, I will if possible attempt to make the dish.

The inflation has just started. The truth is the pandemic has been a fantastic way to bankrupt small and medium business so that the only players left standing are giant corporates with backroom deals with the government.

They'll keep their prices down.... for now, by reducing portion sizes, sourcing from desperate third world countries, and lobbying the government for subsidies, then they'll jack up the prices when there is no competition left
I'd buy caviar every day from the Ukraine and Russia store -. But it's twenty bucks and that's too much.

@Roundandroundwego Since when did Russian caviar cost $20.
That stuff is usually $1000.00 plus for a spoon full.
@justanothername LoL. No, we get locally made Russian style caviar. The whole community came together and kept growing since 2014.
The stuff is local, but awesome Russian caviar. It's legal, too.
These aren't importers. They're immigrants.

A lot. I like Boba drinks but it’s only a very rare treat. I am not into buying expensive drinks or foods

I hate it when that happens. And I tell the owner or manager that I hate and won't be back.

WholeFoods. Won't go there, way to expensive...but always has been

Dollar Tree...Prices went up 25%.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Azlotto and there are a lot of products that they used to to stock for $1 that they don’t even have any longer, that’s the sad thing.

I never go to restaurants. I cook better meals for a third of their price.
That's why minimum wage increases. The lower and middle class pay for it.
