It does seem silly doesn't it? Like sure they raise wages but then prices go up so you are in no better position. But why?
There is a reason though. It is so that money you have in savings and especially cash you may have laying around depreciate.
Some will argue that you should invest but even that is a gamble and you could lose way more than if you left that money just sitting around.

Where do you expect grocers to find the extra money to pay their employees? Without legislation prohibiting price hikes, they will raise prices to pay an increased minimum wage.

@CorvusBlackthorne Very true but like I said it does no good at best and does harm at worst.
I mean there is no point in doubling your pay if the bills are just going to get doubled.

@Punches Then we must force large corporations to look into other ways to pay their employees a living wage.

@CorvusBlackthorne The only real way to do that is if the big shots took a lower pay and we know THAT is not going to happen.
Like I said though the real reason for inflation is to cheapen people's savings and cash.

@Punches You are most probably correct. There was a time in American history when the minimum wage was sufficient to purchase a house and support one's spouse and children.
