I hate big govt, but gasoline needs to be regulated as a utility that everyone uses. Get the politicians, lobbyists, and corporate executives out of it.
Isolate the market to domestic sources, only...remove global impacts since we are able to be energy self-sufficient...remove the constraints that dem presidents like to impose on land permits and drilling...and create standards for marketing, transportation/ movement and consumption. Set the market price and have all rate increases go through a regulatory approval process, when expenses can be proven to have increased.
Rationing is not a good idea. I hate the idea of always imposing limitations on consumers/citizens. Govt is supposed to protect us, not control us.
