In my opinion, the philosophies of both Marx and Nietzche could be fundamentally flawed and not practicable.
Marx is known for his political theory critical of capitalism, while Nietzche's philosophy advocates the abandonment of traditional morality and religion.
Both philosophers were prescribing cures for the ills of human society. To this day, their solutions have not provided cures for their patient: humanity.
So, which is it? Did we misunderstand those two thinkers or did they misdiagnosed our ailment?

@sree251 their misunderstood as either people have no understanding of their ideologies or have at best a surface level knowledge of their philosophy

The OP is correct, they were misunderstood. Though in some cases, on purpose. Nietzsche's work was edited by the Nazis and only those versions were available in Nazi Germany. This is one of the reasons so many people who aren't familiar with his work think he's a Nazi. Meanwhile, in the Soviet Union, Marx's work was banned so that the Bolsheviks could use him in their propaganda and pretend they were doing what he wrote about.

What are Nazis? I see this word bandied around even referring to people in the US. Cite me an American Nazi so that I can grasp what this word means.
And what are Bolsheviks? Wikipedia defines Bolshevism as a destabilizing movement bringing about revolution. This looks like US foreign policy messing with other countries around he world.

@sree251 Originally, a Nazi was a member of the German Nazi Party. Today, when we use the term, we're talking about Neo-Nazis.
A Neo-Nazi is a reactionary Authoritarian who believes in (or at least uses) the Cultural Marxism conspiracy theory.
The Bolsheviks were the political party that ran the Soviet Union.

Wow, I know you are trying to be helpful but I am absolutely clueless with regard to what you are talking about.

I checked Wikipedia. Bolsheviks are extreme radicals advocating communism. They are essentially communists. Are there any in the US?
America is a free country, and I don't think there is any law against any business enterprise set up to run on communist ideology.

@sree251 No, Bolsheviks were a political party that doesn't exist anymore. And they claimed to be communist, but like I said, they lied about what Marx wrote, so that they could do whatever they wanted. They ended up building an authoritarian state.

Authoritarianism is a characteristic of all social systems. This is inevitable when a large group of people are organized to live in a certain way. The system itself is the authority. In the US, the Constitution dictates how people must live. We are a so-called democracy. Our police enforce order and they are armed with handguns.

@sree251 Freedom is a spectrum. I think we should have more freedom and more democratic control over our institutions. The fact that the SCOTUS judges don't have term limits is deranged.
But no, America is not authoritarian. We still elect the president, the vice president, governors, mayors, and many other civil servants. We're still democratic, though that could end very soon if Project 2025 happens.
