Viking settlements in the UK

I have recently started to look more closely into the Vikings. Does anyone have viking ancestry or live in a place with a viking connection?

I would be very interested in hearing your stories and swapping notes.

I live in the fens, on the edge of East Anglia. There are several monasteries in the area that were sacked by the vikings. Archeological evidence is scarce though. Apart from spending the winter in Thetford, not much else is known for sure.
