The gilded age. When , as trump told you, tarrifs

were a most beautiful thing. Back in the gilded age. Late eighteen hundreds, early nineteen. He tauted the amazing wealth of the time. He told you he would like to bring on his own "golden age."
And you bought it.
Do you know how average people lived during the Gilded Age?
The glitz was a facade. The wealthy lived the backs of the oppressed. Look it up.

This is what you voted for. This is what you get.

Like I said it took 4 years to mess things up this bad,
Sorry, but the facts don't agree with you. NOT AT ALL!!

For the first time in literally GENERATIONS, real wages are growing for the lower quintile of US workers. And they're growing FASTER under Biden than they did under Obama or Trump. For the first time in GENERATIONS, the lower half of workers are sharing in our economic growth!

There are more than 5,000,000 (FIVE MILLION) more people employed now than during the peak under Trump. Just read the graph.

And the number unemployed is historically low!

Inflation? The pandemic deflation was followed by worldwide inflation; that is now gone.
@ElwoodBlues Woody. You can have all your charts and diagrams, you and Kamala love them. Here is the thing, I can see with my eyes the mess at the border and feel in my wallet that prices were way up. That is real but hey if your life was better under Biden, good for you. We happen to live in a country where you are free to vote for who you want and have a free voice.
@Sojournersoul Thanks for yielding the facts to me!
You can have all your feelings, and vote based on them!
@ElwoodBlues never said your charts were right or meant anything. I live in the real worlds not one based on charts.

@Sojournersoul Where, then, is your evidence that things are terrible? @ElwoodBlues has charts, and presumably documented evidence to back them up. What do you have?
@CorvusBlackthorne my evidence that is was bad, 77 million people voted for a change. Not run along and let the adults talk.
@Sojournersoul Your evidence is just "feelings" as I said (and I bet you ignored the 81 million votes Biden got). Facts aren't ruled by a majority. The fact that the vast majority believed the Earth was flat for thousands of years merely proved the vast majority to be ignorant.

Now tell me honestly, do you think tariffs will turn out to be 'the most beautiful word in the dictionary'??
@ElwoodBlues you are right, feel it at the pump, the grocery, lumber store and wherever I shop. Those are the facts.

He was elected and served his four years. Now time to move on.
@Sojournersoul Glad you agree that there are more than 5,000,000 (FIVE MILLION) more people employed now than during the peak under Trump, and unemployment is historically low.

Glad you agree that the inflation was caused by the pandemic, and now inflation is back down to 2.5% (until tRump's tariffs kick in).

Now tell me honestly, do you think tariffs will turn out to be 'the most beautiful word in the dictionary'??
@ElwoodBlues thanks for trying to make your points I don’t agree with at all. You can even use common sense your hate is so bad. I am going to see how they play out, I gave Biden his chance and he failed.
@Sojournersoul I presented years of economic facts that you cannot refute; you presented feelings😂🤣

Now I'm waiting (but not holding my breath) for Tяump to keep this major major promise (he's already broken the "day one" part):
We will end inflation and make America affordable again, and we’re going to get the prices down, we have to get them down. It’s too much. Groceries, cars, everything. We’re going to get the prices down.
Don-old J Tяump at Erie PA rally, Sept 29,2024

“When I win, I will immediately bring prices down, starting on day one,” Trump continued. “We will drill, baby, drill,” he said, referring to increasing domestic oil production. “That’s going to bring down prices of everything.”

@Sojournersoul They do if one is not a simpleton.
@CorvusBlackthorne you are like Woody’s little yes man. You don’t have to try so hard, I think he is married. 🤣🤣🤣
@Sojournersoul You have no facts, you have no data, and you have no arguments. So instead of debating the merits, you throw childish personal insults. How MAGA of you😂🤣😂🤣

@Sojournersoul ive been reading this thread for days.
As you watch your potus and my country fail, you cheer. You make excuses. React according to your feelings.
Too late for feelings.
Cold hard truth and it's consequences are fixing to slap you hard.
@ElwoodBlues only one insulting anyone is your little puppet. You want me to show you prices, I can get a little chart like you.
Carla · 61-69, F
@Sojournersoul get it. Im interested.
@Carla this country is not going to fail, if you really think that, I am truly sorry. We have stood for almost 250 years and we will keep going strong.
Carla · 61-69, F
@Sojournersoul democratically. No one, in that 250 years, actively set out to tear her down as trump is doing.
Waiting on that chart.

@Sojournersoul you are showing me prices that have already increased. You do know that once prices have risen, they are not likely to fall considerably. Thank corporate greed for that.
But inflation had leveled.
Trump promised reduced prices across the board. Let's revisit that list in about three months.
@Carla see I provide you with numbers and oh that is just greedy corporations. Let’s revisit this whole thing in 4 years and see how this country is doing. Border crossing down 92% in two weeks.
Carla · 61-69, F
@Sojournersoul those were things that had already risen. And yes...the packaging shrinkages and price hikes were capitalized on by greed. That is fact. Harris had a proposed policy to stop price gouging. Trump relishes those gouges.
We are seeing prices coninue to rise, not fall, or even remain stable.
Trump admits you will feel pain. After promising relief.
If i was made promises like that, and believed, i would be disillusioned with my choice.
@Carla price gouging, or gaging as she called them. Like I said just have to see after 4 years are we a better country.
Carla · 61-69, F
@Sojournersoul four years is a long while to watch a fire burn. But, new fuel will be added. Good thing too. It may be the best way to keep warm in the winters to come.
