Remember the film Zulu?

This picture shows the storehouse at Rorke's Drift, where one company of the 24th Foot held off 4,000 Zulus. Heroes all - on both sides of the battle.

I have that film, and I do remember it.

And it made Michael Caine a star!
MandyMitchell · 80-89, F
@MartinII That was the only reason they started that war- to make Caine a star. All the rest was irrelevant

@MartinII
Bromhead: Give me your gear. I'll have it cleaned.
Chard: There's no need to bother yourself.
Bromhead: There's no bother Old boy. I wasn't offering to do it myself.

Or words to that effect.

All because of British colonialism. It wasn't the fault of those that were there. They did their job and are rightly remembered for it.
MandyMitchell · 80-89, F
@Jacko1971 The Dutch were expanding north and the Zulu colonial empire expanding south. They collided in the 1830s. Later, when the British tried to make sense of the mess of Southern Africa, they and the Zulus fought.
