40 Arrested After Atlanta Warehouse Bust; Police Say Drug Packaging Appeared to Target Children

Atlanta police dismantled what investigators describe as a large-scale, social media–driven drug distribution operation after executing a search warrant at a downtown warehouse last week, with authorities raising concerns that some of the products may have been packaged in ways designed to appeal to children.

The operation resulted in more than 40 arrests and the seizure of significant quantities of narcotics, cash, and firearms.

The operation took place on Saturday at a facility on Ted Turner Drive SW that had been promoted online as a vendor-style “pop-up” event.

Authorities said the gathering drew thousands of online registrations and was structured like a festival marketplace where multiple sellers operated under one roof.

The case began months earlier after an anonymous tip alerted police to recurring events advertised on social media.

That tip led to undercover surveillance and controlled purchases at earlier gatherings tied to the same network, ultimately supporting the warrant used in the raid, according to WSB-TV.

When officers entered the warehouse, they found more than 70 people inside, with additional attendees still arriving. Officials later estimated that hundreds more were expected throughout the day.

As officers moved through the building, the scene quickly unraveled. Several individuals attempted to flee through emergency exits and rear access points, while others ran across rooftops and nearby rail corridors.

During the chaos, suspects were seen discarding drugs and firearms.

Inside the venue, investigators uncovered what they described as a coordinated distribution setup involving multiple vendors and large volumes of packaged narcotics.

The seizure included approximately 1,200 pounds of marijuana, nearly 400 pounds of THC-infused edibles, and about 29 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, along with additional controlled substances such as fentanyl-related materials and ecstasy in undisclosed amounts, according to The Georgia Sun.

Alongside the drugs, officers recovered 15 firearms and more than $30,000 in cash.
