U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia with the intent to deport him to Uganda.

Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan filed a habeas petition preventing the government from immediately deporting Abrego Garcia.

Habeas petitions in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland trigger an automatic injunction preventing hasty deportations.
