Actually, Trump could be allowed a third term because his first and second terms were not consecutive terms. We had 4 years of Biden in between trump's terms. Most presidents have 2 consecutive terms and then they are out. Since trump's terms were not consecutive, he should be allowed to run for re-election again in 2028.
@IM5688 No.

Read the amendment.

@SomeMichGuy Amendments can be changed. In fact, that's what amendments are, changes and/or revisions to the original writing.

@IM5688 Deflection.

You had no clue what the amendment says.

Just own it.
@IM5688 Or we can just drop the act and say that Republicans are going to end democracy. Isn't that easier?

@BohemianBabe Yup, end democracy and return to the Constitutional Republic, you meant to say. Are not you pleased your statement was corrected?
@sunsporter1649 A republic is a form of democracy. The reason you pretend they're mutually exclusive is because you want to redefine Republicanism so that it can be authoritarian.
When the Republicans eliminate democratic elections, they're going to pretend this is what America was supposed to be. They're going to say now that the candidates are pre-selected, like in China, we've become a real "republic."
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@BohemianBabe You mean like ranked-choice voting?
@sunsporter1649 Rank-choice voting isn't pre-selected candidates. By pre-selected, I mean that we're only going to be able to vote for members of the Republican party. Basically, we'll have elections, but the party will decide who can have a chance at winning an election. They used to do this in the Soviet Union.

@BohemianBabe Gee, precisely the way commiefornia is conducting itself right now! Amazing!
@sunsporter1649 Source?

I haven't heard anything about California only allowing elections with pre-selected candidates. If that's true, I would certainly like to see the proof.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@sunsporter1649 I asked for a source. Post it, I'll read it.

That's not how the system works.
