Are you envious of Donald Trump?

Some people are getting very upset because of Trump's new limited edition sneakers. They feature a five-star American flag, a defiant image of Trump, and inspiring words from him.

Trump is a very successful man, and the attempted assassination has only led to more success for him. He survived, and he is celebrating that by releasing these shoes. They symbolize the events of the day, and show him surviving being shot. Are people envious of his success? Are they envious they cannot do the same?

It's not envy. Many many people have been thoroughly indoctrinated to hate Trump and everything and anything he does.

They are not serious people and can be safely ignored or mocked.

We are WELL past the hoaxes such as him being a Russian asset, telling people to inject bleach, saying he would be a dictator, etc etc etc.

The people you are referring to still believe those things. Now they are stuck in the past on an island and are very angry and frustrated that the world no longer sees Trump the way they were programmed to.

Trump haters sprung up the moment he came down that elevator at Trump Tower. How did they get indoctrinated that quick? And that woman on the bicycle showing the finger when Trump's motorcade drove by was early in his presidency right after he was elected. People in Maga hats were thrown out of bars. Can you explain that?
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@sree251 What's to explain? You literally stated what happened. Yes people can get indoctrinated that quickly. You remember that he lost a lot of sponsors during his run? That was cancel culture trying to get him to drop out.

Those people who still believe those things are here in this forum. They are as real as any out there in the real world. I have no personal contact with Trump who lives in a different universe of the rich and famous. He might have cheated other people as these Trump haters claim but Trump has neither cheated me nor anyone I know. I have no reason to hate Trump. I daresay that none of these Trump haters in this forum lives in Trump's universe either. What makes them hate Trump? Propaganda? Elwood could be propaganda-driven. Others who have engaged me in debate seem able to think but they hate Trump also.

@sree251 So in my estimation these people live in a bubble that reinforces their TDS. They don't expose themselves to alternate opinions because it takes effort, plus they are quite comfortable feeling they are superior to Trump and his supporters.

They all watch the same programs on TV. They all consume the same media. They all congregate on the same social media sites. AND, they purposefully and methodically remove all alternate opinions from their world. I get quietly blocked here a LOT after having a particularly intense debate with a person.

I'm sure you have noticed how many of them move in lockstep saying almost the same exact things at the same time. Particularly when the subject is Trump.

They don't WANT to know differently. They don't want to feel bad for perhaps getting things wrong.

Tell "Peckerwood" I said hi. I blocked him awhile back and it was the correct decision.

You nailed it: A feeling of superiority. What do you mean by not exposing themselves to alternate opinions? These people are here and you have been peppering them with your opinions. I watch them doubling down and return fire.

You are talking about pack animals here: hyenas. These bastards can bring down an elephant. And they are consumed by the frenzied attack on Donald Trump.

I am not a Trump supporter, and I can sense that you are not one either. So, I am not driven by either political bias or enamor for Trump. I am sure Trump is not a saint which is the standard Trump haters judge him against. Trump says he is not a politician but he is astutely managing his mass following for his mission whatever that may be. Trump is as good as it gets. America is an unholy mess at home and a horror of a nation abroad. I will give him a good grade as President if he can do just one thing: shutdown the CIA and US involvement in foreign wars.

What I mean is they methodically remove any and all contradictory information that doesn't support what they already believe.

I make a point of reading articles by the MSM, and I especially like to read "fact checking" sites and see if I can rebut their positions. That's how I get better at debating because I already read the propaganda and have determined why it is nonsense, and have located the evidence demonstrating otherwise.

@sree251 Yes it is pack mentality. I actually am a Trump supporter, but I fully recognize he is not perfect and has flaws.

I personally don't have a problem with people who bash Trump. It's expected and he says and does a lot of things that invite the response he gets.

However, I strongly support my fellow Trump supporters and feel they have every right to vote for and support who they wish. There is no reason to bash people unfairly for supporting a candidate for political office.

I was HIGHLY offended by the admittedly few leftists who chose to mock what happened this weekend, in particular the disrespect shown to the man who died there. That's unconscionable.

Let me be clear about my not being a Trump supporter. I have deep interest in the welfare of America and its people. Trump seems committed to running the US government, that he views as a badly-managed business organization, and wants to turn it around. I am skeptical that he can do it. My reasons are:

1. Trump is a one man show, the US government is a massive corporation with entrenched culture.
2. He has only four years.
3. Trump is driven by instinct. He doesn't have a long vision for a homeland for 350 million people.

Trump is a reactionary, not a revolutionary. America needs fundamental change.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@sree251 I think those are all fair concerns. I'm sort of looking at this as what I can get out of it. The number 1 thing Trump said he will do, and I believe he will, is close the Southern Border and revamp the immigration system there.

If he can accomplish this, it is worth it to me. That is HUGE. American citizens have been asking to close the southern border since the 90s. It's long past time.

What do you think of his VP pick of JD Vance? A few people have mentioned this looks like his possible successor. How do you feel about that?

Yes, anything Trump does is better than the insanity that has possessed America.

The number 1 thing Trump said he will do, and I believe he will, is close the Southern Border and revamp the immigration system there.

He will be able to stem the tide at the southern border. I don't see why he can't use the US military and deploy troops to do the job. There are now migrant women with babies/slung on their backs hawking candy and water at every street corner. Texas has trucked them to sanctuary cities all over the country. How is Trump going to capture them for removal from the US?

There is nothing wrong with the immigration system. It is not easy to get US citizenship if politicians don't mess with it. My preference is the abolishment of dual citizenship. We cannot build a nation with foreigners holding US passports.

What do you think of his VP pick of JD Vance? A few people have mentioned this looks like his possible successor. How do you feel about that?

Trump is unusual. If he wins the presidency, no one will be able to succeed him. JD Vance is at best a run of the mill politician. When Trump leaves the White House at the end of his term, the water will close over his head. The forces he has been fighting against, including traitors in his cabinet and party, will still be there.

I am just guessing. What is your guess?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@sree251 I don't have to guess. He keeps quoting Project 2025 talking points in his speeches. He wants to disband the FDA, the EPA, the FBI, the Board of Education. He wants to create massive detention camps for immigrants. He wants to stop teachers from teaching black history. He wants to establish Christianity as the official state religion.

All you have to do is listen to the guy to find out what he's going to do. And what a coincidence, it's all taken directly from the Project 2025 that he claims to know nothing about.

I don't know what he is going to do or say he is going to do. Below is a part of Wikipedia's version of Project 2025. The President has to have people willing to work for him. Would you hire a person who think you are an ass or someone who like working for you?

It proposes reclassifying tens of thousands of federal civil service workers as political appointees, in order to replace them with loyalists more willing to enable Trump's policies. (Wikipedia)

The DOJ reports to the President. William Barr was acting as his own man with a disdain for Trump. He was out of control. He should have resigned. The FBI under Barr was stacked with Trump haters. The whole lot should have been fired. You don't agree?

The plan proposes taking partisan control of the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Department of Commerce, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), dismantling the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and sharply reducing environmental and climate change regulations to favor fossil fuel production.(Wikipedia)

That's not what it's about, and you know it. It's about making sure all those civil servants they are replacing will continue to push the fascist agenda of the man who appoints them.

The DOJ reports to the President. William Barr was acting as his own man with a disdain for Trump.
Only because Trump tried to weaponize the DOJ.

Haven't you noticed that every former Trump staffer has the same thing to say about him? They literally all say he's an іԁіоt and a nаrсіssіst, without fail. What does that tell you?
