3 prisoners die of thirst in a jail, consequences of living on a prison planet.

They were mentally ill and unable to recognize that they were thirsty and so they ended up dying. Jails are not for the mentally ill, cops are enforcing the law, not therapists. They are not qualified. To paraphrase the lawyer in the video, if the state chooses to house mentally ill people in jail and criminalize illness, then yes you do indeed make yourself responsible by default.

Apparently the jail doesn't understand mental illness and that's a problem.

None of them do. Ask me how I know.

@LordShadowfire I think it would be scary, imagine being with strangers who don't know how you feel, that's honestly crazy to me.

@SatanBurger The ones I really felt sorry for were the ones who were on thorazine. You're supposed to take a second pill with the thorazine to avoid doing the thorazine shuffle, but the DOC wouldn't give it to them.

@LordShadowfire That's cruel, another reason to despise bureaucracy. Someone with no experience probably looks at that and decides to make whatever policies "they" feel are reasonable when there should be clear set standards.
