NYC Homeowner Arrested After Tense Standoff With Squatters She Says Illegally Took Over Her $1M Property

"A New York City woman found herself in handcuffs after a fiery showdown with a squatter who laid claim to her million-dollar family abode.

Adele Andaloro, 47, inherited a property nestled in the calm streets of Flushing, Queens.

Intent on selling it, Andaloro was blindsided when she discovered the front door swapped and locks altered, signaling unauthorized occupants, The New York Post reports.

“It’s enraging. It really is,” vented Andaloro to ABC7 New York, expressing her frustration over the ordeal.

Andaloro, accompanied by local media, marched to her family’s $1M residence, and called a locksmith to restore the locks. The ensuing clash, captured on camera, reached a boiling point, prompting law enforcement to intervene and escort two individuals off the premises.

In New York City, a mere 30 days of residency can grant squatters “squatter’s rights,” shielding them from eviction-related measures such as lock changes, utility cuts, or property dispossession.

“By the time someone does their investigation, their work, and their job, it will be over 30 days and this man will still be in my home,” lamented Andaloro, expressing apprehension over potential home theft.

As Andaloro conversed with reporter Dan Krauth outside her property, an opportune moment arose when a passerby unlocked the door, allowing her entry with property documentation in hand.

“This is proving everything I said, this is my furniture, these are my curtains,” she asserted, scrutinizing her belongings.

Andaloro’s reclamation efforts were met with resistance as two men, one dozing in a bedroom, claimed residency. Despite Andaloro’s protests, law enforcement were summoned against her, resulting in the removal of one man for lack of proof of occupancy.

With locksmith in tow, Andaloro attempted to secure her residence, only to face a fresh intrusion as another individual, Brian Rodriguez, barged in, asserting ownership.

“This guy just forced himself into my house,” exclaimed Andaloro, aggrieved by the recurrent intrusion.

In a twist of fate, Andaloro found herself dialing authorities this time, only to be informed that the matter required court intervention due to its landlord-tenant nature. Consequently, the 47-year-old was apprehended for violating New York City’s illegal eviction statute by changing the locks."

@justanothername Exactly how is the story an "angle"?Did it not happen in the way described and due to the regulations on the books? If there is anything factually inaccurate about the story ,by all means point it out.But if it's true ,it's true ,no matter if it came from sources you personally dislike.
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@justanothername And here's something else to consider: conservative news outlets are the only ones to print stories that go against the progressive narrative,,as the major media outlets simply ignore them.So I guess there's a use for Faux Noise and NYP after all.

@DavidT8899 Who pulled your chain?
justanothername · 51-55, M
@DavidT8899 The New York Post is more of a tabloid news outlet. Faux Noise is the MAGAt mouth piece “news” outlet.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@DavidT8899 Sport is used to posting non news items Yes, it happened. Was it news worthy? … 🦗

Could a MAGAt cultist put a pro Republican spin on the story?
Definitely.
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@justanothername Ok then, please explain the spin.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@DavidT8899 Turn a non news story into news… a quiet day in sportsville.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@justanothername And everyone knows you would never put a spin on anything, or there would be a bloodbath, right?
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@justanothername No offense, but that definitely sounded like a worthy news story to me.A lot more newsworthy that a blatantly dishonest attempt to turn a comment that was obviously directed at the economic output into a literal threat of violence.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@sunsporter1649 To use Trumps own quote.
