Bad news for Ken Paxton

The strongly Republican TX House of Representatives have voted to Impeach TX Attorney General Paxton. The vote was 121-23, with two members voting “present.” This despite support for Paxton by both Trump and Ted Cruz.

Now it goes to the TX Senate to complete the Impeachment.

He called on his supporters to go to the streets, for peaceful demonstrations of support.
@Northwest …and he called other House members of his own Party to threaten them with political consequences if they voted to Impeach him. How did both of those things work out for him?

Now we have to see if his wife (who is a TX State Senator) recluses herself for his upcoming Impeachment vote. Remember, she drove his “getaway vehicle “ when he was attempting to escape being served a summons…

@KunsanVeteran Morally and ethically, and perhaps legally, his wife should recuse herself for a huge conflict of interest. I am waiting to see if she has a shred of decency or not. I am skeptical she does.
@windinhishair She's from Texas, so morals, integrity and decency are probably out of the question.

@independentone As a Texas Republican, that is true. She is using back entrances and hallways at the Capitol to avoid having to discuss her participation in the trial.

@windinhishair I would be amazed if Senator Mrs Paxton does not stonewall that trial. Republicans have absolutely NO shame.

@Crazywaterspring None whatsoever. In fact, they just passed a law that applies only to Harris County, the largest county in the state and one that votes Democratic. That way, if they don't like the way an election is going, the Republican state can take over the voting procedures to ensure Republicans are elected statewide, regardless of the actual vote.
@Crazywaterspring She can stonewall and likely will, but her husband is suspended until the Senate vote. She should recuse herself.

The real question is: how did someone as crooked as Paxton get elected in the first place?
