Bad news for Ken Paxton

The strongly Republican TX House of Representatives have voted to Impeach TX Attorney General Paxton. The vote was 121-23, with two members voting “present.” This despite support for Paxton by both Trump and Ted Cruz.

Now it goes to the TX Senate to complete the Impeachment.

"The Texas House of Representatives has voted to impeach Attorney General Ken Paxton, an unprecedented move following a legislative probe that faulted the third-term Republican for a yearslong pattern of corruption, including abusing his office’s powers, retaliating against whistleblowers and obstructing justice."

Crazy.............why would a Republican state impeach someone that does those things? Those things are the qualifications a Republican must do to be loved by his voters.
@anythingoes477 Ken’s security fraud hasn’t gone away, either…

He called on his supporters to go to the streets, for peaceful demonstrations of support.

@windinhishair I would be amazed if Senator Mrs Paxton does not stonewall that trial. Republicans have absolutely NO shame.

@Crazywaterspring None whatsoever. In fact, they just passed a law that applies only to Harris County, the largest county in the state and one that votes Democratic. That way, if they don't like the way an election is going, the Republican state can take over the voting procedures to ensure Republicans are elected statewide, regardless of the actual vote.
@Crazywaterspring She can stonewall and likely will, but her husband is suspended until the Senate vote. She should recuse herself.

The real question is: how did someone as crooked as Paxton get elected in the first place?
