On CBS a senator said we're going to raise the retirement age because lifespans are still going up.

Why didn't the journalist mention the falling lifespans in the USA?

a deep dive into the statistics is probably going to show 2 things:

1. Once you reach 65, you're more likely to live longer than ever before

2. The death rate for "younger americans (16-40) is increasing. Due to drug overdoses, gun crimes, suicide . . . and this results in the overall averages falling.
Because raising the age is a backdoor way of cutting services.

It has fuck all to do with life expectancy as you noticed.

But thats only America.. Nearly every other country is going up.. So get with the Republican program...😷
@whowasthatmaskedman uhh... Why would the falling US lifespan be avoided? What's so important for you to not say?

@Roundandroundwego Americans are not good at seeing the bigger picture. First, that the rest of the world is living longer. Second, that Rich Republicans need to save on paying out on Medicare and Social Security to those unhealthy diseased poor people...😷
@whowasthatmaskedman sounds perfect for the Americans.
They do this is 🇦🇺 Every 5-10 years..
I thinks it’s up to Age 66 here now..
