"Charlene Slaugh, 35, and her brother James Slaugh were preparing to leave Club Q on Saturday night when a gunman opened fire, killing five and wounding 25 others...Charlene was shot at least once in the abdomen and suffered a collapsed lung. She is recovering after undergoing surgery and faces a long recovery."

Two AR-15-style weapons were used in the attack.

@ShaneMckay @pdockal @Wantingwidow The point of new laws is to make it exceedingly difficult to illegally obtain weapons. I am not surprised to learn that this idea escapes the three of you.

@pdockal I certainly do not disagree with the idea of analyzing these persons to find out why they choose to behave in this fashion. However, let us not forget that it is Republicans who consistently vote against the idea of red flag laws. In Colorado Springs had previously threatened his mother with a bomb, among other disturbing behavior, and no one launched an investigation into his mental health. Don't you find that fascinating? I certainly do.

Because when mass shootings occur, it is always Republicans who look for something to blame other than the widespread availability of semi-automatic weapons with large capacity magazines. That is why.
