Even the link says it's a satirical article.

@LordShadowfire but if you read the article it is an assumption that it is satirical based on the writer's previous works (it doesn't say if they are assumed to be satirical or not). This is quite odd, I'm really not sure why the UN, not known for their comedy would post such a thing.

@GeniUs That is the art of biased news. Another link https://www.sott.net/article/469645-UN-deletes-weird-satirical-article-celebrating-benefits-of-world-hunger-after-backlash PS. I have to use Gigablast as the one from SOTT doesn't appear on Duckduckgo results (another censorship? We don't know). God, I hate this planet.

@MarthaT It's got to the point where you have to question everything, then analyze the response and any source used. (Even sources which used to be sound, the BBC for example are now questionable.) And after all that you can make a decision or decide there isn't enough information to go on.

@GeniUs I see plenty of satire. The author is writing it from the perspective of a rich one-percenter who doesn't care about the well-being of the people under them. Consider this quote:
For those of us at the high end of the social ladder, ending hunger globally would be a disaster. If there were no hunger in the world, who would plow the fields? Who would harvest our vegetables? Who would work in the rendering plants? Who would clean our toilets? We would have to produce our own food and clean our own toilets. No wonder people at the high end are not rushing to solve the hunger problem. For many of us, hunger is not a problem, but an asset.
I don't see how anyone could read that and think the author was serious.

@LordShadowfire If he was top 1% I'd say he could write it without a hint of satire. I know people who just have moderate jobs who think themselves much more than others. A subordinate at work was shocked to find if he left his child at a childminders that the person minding the child would carry on an ordinary day and not spend that day educating his child!
