Why did the UN thought hunger made people work more effectively?

That is the stupidest thing I have ever read in decades.
https://news.yahoo.com/un-deletes-satirical-article-benefits-173242772.html
your link gave me this and what you said was misinterpreted.. sorry

UN deletes satirical article on ‘benefits’ of world hunger: ‘No one works harder than hungry people’

those are not the same words as work more effectively . to be fair poor people work harder to just stay alive and that means eating . housing .ect

@markansas These fact checker websites are not reliable at all. Just another gov tool to trick people into believing false info (propagandas). Remember the Covid Lab Leak Theory? That weren't allowed to discuss on FB back then. Any posts or comments containing 'Covid is coming from Chinese Labs' will be deleted. Also, Fact checking websites said the Lab Theory was not true. Now Has changed:

https://summit.news/2021/05/21/politifact-forced-to-pull-fact-check-that-debunked-lab-leak-origin-of-covid/

https://hotair.com/jazz-shaw/2021/05/27/facebook-no-longer-censoring-talk-of-lab-origin-for-covid-n392854

These won't happen if Fact Check websites are reliable and not depends on the government. I used to believe TV propagandas back then. Now not anymore.

@MarthaT Oh the deleted message was posted by me, not the bloke. I found it irrelevant so I decided to remove it

What a load of bollocks . Any idiot knows hunger makes you ill and weak so how is that gonna make you work harder . What cotton brained twat wrote that .
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@Rhode57 you’re confusing hunger w starvation I think .
MarthaT · 90-99, M
The thing is you could only find this: on the onion link of ZZZchan
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
Along with hope, love, and fear, hunger is a powerful motivator.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
Even the link says it's a satirical article.

@MarthaT I find that article logical and distressing in the way it offhandedly wants to keep people down. There is in my mind no hint of satire at all.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@GeniUs I see plenty of satire. The author is writing it from the perspective of a rich one-percenter who doesn't care about the well-being of the people under them. Consider this quote:
For those of us at the high end of the social ladder, ending hunger globally would be a disaster. If there were no hunger in the world, who would plow the fields? Who would harvest our vegetables? Who would work in the rendering plants? Who would clean our toilets? We would have to produce our own food and clean our own toilets. No wonder people at the high end are not rushing to solve the hunger problem. For many of us, hunger is not a problem, but an asset.
I don't see how anyone could read that and think the author was serious.

@LordShadowfire If he was top 1% I'd say he could write it without a hint of satire. I know people who just have moderate jobs who think themselves much more than others. A subordinate at work was shocked to find if he left his child at a childminders that the person minding the child would carry on an ordinary day and not spend that day educating his child!
