Any Finnish people on here? Reason I ask is I recently read that Finland has recently been voted happiest country in the world

5th year in a row and would be interested to get more context
Finnish PM Sanna Marin. She was like 34 when she was confirmed by the Finnish Parliament. I don’t think this is why they are happy, but it reflects their attitude. Young, attractive, articulate, smart people working for the country.

Compare with Trump, Biden, Boris. We’re fucking and zombies if they reflect us.

They have very limited social media interest, that’s why they are happy.

Finns get substantial paid leave when they have children. The government even provides a package of goods including blankets, clothing, etc. for each newborn.

Finns are naturally reserved, and the most literate nation on earth. I have Finnish ancestry and have a t-shirt that says:

Finns
Social Distancing Since Birth
Happiest People on Earth

@windinhishair sounds brilliant and apparently they have something called flat organisation. haha that's good.
I am not Finnish but know a few people who have lived there and it might have to do with the fact they seem to be very results oriented in terms solving social issues from education, to social programs and experiments with homing people.

Whereas here in Canada and the US our politicians start by making sure everything is in compliance with free market ideology and only consider solutions that comply with the ideology.

It’s an interesting contradiction because they are still pretty high on snicides.

@WhateverWorks according to the bits of information I've seen it's predominantly down to depression and alcoholism

Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
