The average WNBA salary is 120 Thousand.
Think about that.

I'm assuming they think it's because the WNBA are women therefore they are paid less?

Could it be they are paid according to the interest in the WNBA? Watch a game if you see it on TV, it looks like a high school game with the number of fans in the stands, I think women's college ball has more fans.

I don't know what the reasons are, overpaid male players get to sit on their ass and deliver a substandard game. Female players on the other hand have shown more talent and drive for winning, and it's just not rewarded. I was watching the Women's Cricket World Cup and the Women's Football matches and their performances were sterling across the board.

@Longpatrol Pay women $4.6 million and watch how quickly the league shuts down. The revenue stream is just not there. It's not that they aren't "rewarded". It's the entertainment business. The more popular entertainers make more money because more people will pay to watch. Not too complicated.

@SW-User why would they need to? If the women players play with a equivalent or greater level of skill in the women's league money should by avalanching in.

Nobody(I've not read the rest of the replies) has made the argument "anything a man can do a woman can too" That's true...within reason.
