I think the better question is.....why is there is no Republican Party anymore.

The problem is that almost all older Americans are still voting "Republican".........because they always did. But they do not take into account that this current "Republican Party" is nothing at all...even remotely.....like the Republican Party they voted for 10 years ago even. Since (most notably) 2015 the Republican Party has been morphing............some say as far back as Reagan.........into a domestic terrorist backed organization that has one goal....to guide the United States into becoming an authoritarian fascist form of government. Look at the changes just in the last 12 months. Religion and power based solely on agenda in the SCOTUS is forming the policy for us all. Discrediting of free elections. Convincing the party faithful that anyone who is "anti fascists" is their enemy. Purposedly dividing our country to destroy national patriotism. Encouraging Americans to see dictators as "brilliant..geniuses"....even as they destroy the lives and rights of others. Racial purity. Encouraging hate based on religion and skin color and languages spoken. Voting rights challenged. Schools being told what they can teach and what they can't. Stripping a woman of her rights to even decide if she wants kids. A party that is aligning with more and more armed radicals to help them eventually take over government with force if necessary. Refusal to stop more and more people from being armed with military grade weapons. A coup attempt to take control of our nation.... by one man that is immune from being elected out of office. Look up "fascism". Tell me which point that defines what fascism is that is left out of the current Republican Party agenda.

The question isn't about any adults left in the GOP. The question is why is there no GOP left in the GOP?

What amazes me is the tens of millions of americans who happily go along with all of the bullshit. Alot of them are the same people who believe in a magic wizard in the sky so. The worst part of all this is they refuse to take climate change seriously and we are all going to suffer greatly for doing basically nothing. I have my beliefs on it, that it's our destiny anyway so.. but it's just very sad, very stupid. Republicans can rot in hell
