We put every homicide and gun related crime on the TV and people are compelled, even encouraged, to get guns and defend themselves.
In truth, homicide death rate is about 7.5 in 100,000. By firearms 6 in 100,000.
And in truth the firearm suicide rate is about 7 in 100,000. All suicides it’s about 14 in 100,000.
I’m 2X as likely to kill myself as get killed by somebody. As likely to kill myself with a gun as get murdered by one.
