I swear to Christ in his heaven, if one more idiot draws a false parallel between guns and cars, or guns and alcohol...!

Cars and alcohol are not designed to kill things! Guns are designed to kill things! How fuсking hard is that to understand!?

Nor does the constitution say anything about guns. It says arms. The most common and efficient arms at the time were swords. A flintlock could get off maybe two shots a minute if you were really fast. But modern guns are literal weapons of mass destruction capable of killing hundreds per second depending on the gun. A person paralyzed in all but their hand can still kill with one. Pets have been know to shoot and even kill their owners by pawing the trigger.
Yes they are other ways of killing. But many of them are so inefficient that it could take hours of trying to kill a person for you to succeed. When guns were banned in the UK kniffing skyrocketed but deaths went down. Because a knife is less efficent at causing death.
A car is pretty effective on the surface but the person driving could be just as easily killed driving it.
Alcohol is completely self imposed and can take decades to kill from liver damage. Unless some sick repedocans are forcing bottle after bottle down the throat of someone they have tied to a chair. And even then that could take days or weeks to kill.
But knowing republicans they WOULD commit to that. They just won't commit to saving any living children.
