Wonder who will pay Trump's contempt fines?

]He always leaves someone else holding the bag on bankruptcies, throws loyalists under the bus to absorb the blame. Stay tuned for who gets to take it this time.
Attorneys for Donald Trump said they will appeal a New York judge’s Monday order holding the former president in contempt for failing to provide documents as part of civil fraud investigation into the family’s business dealings headed by the state attorney general.

Judge Arthur Engoron ordered Trump to pay a fine of $10,000 each day that he remains in violation.

"Mr. Trump, I know you take your business seriously, and I take mine seriously," Engoron said before issuing the ruling from the bench in a Manhattan courtroom following a hearing.
If this is supposed to be about taxes, shouldn't they get the files they need from the New York Dept of Revenue?

@MarineBob Employment insurance for the CPAs and lawyers, not to mention the lobbyists. How many of those 100,000 pages do you think are devoted to protecting the middle class?
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@dancingtongue very few ask your congressman why
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@MarineBob He's too busy talking to his SCOTUS-certified "individual" corporate sponsor who has free speech protection just like me. But more megaphones in his wallet.
RedBaron · M
Why worry about it? It's not coming out of your pocket.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@dancingtongue 2 years of investigation and they have zip. Zilch. Nada .
This is political theater . Any fine will eventually be rescinded .
RedBaron · M
@dancingtongue I don't know. What evidence ya got?
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@RedBaron I've got none, but the Attorney General has enough to get a Grand Jury subpoena and apparently enough to not only scare Trump into hiding the books, but the accounting firm which created the books to disown them and him.

Whoever Trump can fleece for the fines. Most likely his Cult members. One thing is absolutely certain--Trump himself will never pay. He never pays his debts and obligations.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
Can and will the States attorney general guarantee the files will not be leaked out?
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@MarineBob NY attorney general has nothing to leak after 2 years of investigating Orange . That’s Bc there’s nothing to leak.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@AthrillatheHunt of course they don't that's why they want his books
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@MarineBob Bob I think we’ve both been around long enough to recognize a charade when we see one
Voter fraud is a charade and game recognize game. He will never be indicted . It’s just a carrot for those who hate him.
Remember how many times Orange said Hill dog would go to jail ?
Game protect game
Time he does some community service.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@Vivaci prior to a conviction?
I’ll let the judge be the judge of that. @MarineBob
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@Vivaci how much community service do you feel is just?
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
In one hundred days he'll owe a million. Chump change to his team.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@Tastyfrzz it must make lots of people feel good to think Orange is going down . But it ain’t happening .
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
You really buying into this political fiction huh ?
Leaving someone else holding the bag has been his MO for decades.
Northwest · M
I wonder how they're going to collect.
His cult will gladly pay.
There needs to be jail time eventually. Cause if you're rich you can just keep paying the fines indefinitely. So it's not a great punishment. But is a good way to make some easy money.
Another joke story from a joke "newspaper." Who knows, maybe Elon Musk will pay his "fine" since Elon just restored free speech to America.
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
He might hide in a Miami trailer park until Cuba can rescue him.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
Where does this "fine money" go?
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@Tastyfrzz Goes to the Court that found you in contempt. Depending upon the issue and the judge, it may be directed to some charity or injured party. Otherwise it is applied to administrative costs of the court.
