When adjusted proportionally to display the rate per 100,000 people in all age groups, the number of COVID-19 deaths is higher in the unvaccinated population than in the vaccinated population, the data shows.
For the over-80s, the rate of death per 100,000 unvaccinated was 156. For those vaccinated, it was 49.5
On Monday at least one patient infected with the new omicron variant of Covid-19 has died in the UK.
Earlier on Monday, U.K. Health Secretary Sajid Javid told the BBC that 10 people were currently in hospital after being infected with the omicron variant.
He said omicron was spreading at a “phenomenal rate” and cases were doubling every few days.

@Grvstu Nobody is saying it's a fake! Only a total idiot (dumies, as you rightly say) would do that! It's extremely dangerous! Unfortunately, cheap and readily available early treatments, trialled and proved in the first months of the pandemic, were banned by America's Friend and Doctor, A. Fauci. So people who caught Covid died.
@Grvstu I have God-given (and therefore at a pretty high level) natural immunity, which is good enough for me. By the way, having turned off the TV in March 2020 for good following the depressing drip-drip of funereal death and fear talk, I am free from the morbid fascination that seems to have turned the populace into cowering, masked victims, who believe the dumb advertising slogan that "nobody is safe till everybody is safe"
@Grvstu I have never had that risky blood-brain barrier-threatening invasion up my nose. I know that my body is primed to fight any virus attack. I also know the protocols for early home treatment of covid, and have emergency medicines if I catch it. Also, daily consumption of the vitamins and at least one mineral that help against it.
To me, this defence is immensely preferable to participating in a world-wide clinical trial of drugs which have turned out to give merely a few months' protection, while possibly generating many SAEs (and definitely generating many billions per year for the manufacturers)
