It makes sense. Long boots looks good. Especially with short skirts.

It rarely gets cold enough here for that.

I bought a pair of winter boots with fake fur lining the inside for when it got cold and snowed. Wore those boots one time after a deep snow and walking around the neighborhood. Got blistered bad due to a metal piece in the boot and threw those boots away. I do have a couple thick wool blend socks I wear when it’s really cold. Was taking a chemo med last winter that could cause peripheral neuropathy if my feet or hands or mouth got numb so I had to keep my feet warm. I bought three pair of Muk Luk house boots to wear in the house, those are extra warm in cold weather. I had to keep thick socks on my feet even in the house with the central heat on and still had some tingling in my feet.

When I am hunting at the farm , yes! If its snowy I wear pack boots, certainly not a fashion statement but they are warm.

No, I stay inside, bare footed and wearing Bermuda shorts and a short sleeved cotton polo.

No. I got a single pair of shoes (of the hiking type) that I use throughout the year. I use normal socks with them.

Not these days, but we don't have much snow these days, and I have no reason to go out in it much even if we do.

No, but I might wear thick socks in about 10 days when a cold front hits for a couple of nights.

Us Canadians wear winter flip flops!
