Sunrise this Morning

An advantage of arising earlier than you want, is that you get to see the sunrise. Our balcony faces east. I didn't get to see the actual sun, but the effect was beautiful

The rear of my house faces west and of course, the front, east.
Sunsets here are much more dramtic than the rises..

@Carla in think that is usually the case. There is probably a reasonable explanation. Have you ever seen "the green flash?"

On occasion, we do get northern lights.

@Carla no, that is a different phenomenon. I think I saw it once, when on Safari in the Serengeti. I thought I caught it on my camera, but looking at the images, i don't see it.
