An advantage of arising earlier than you want, is that you get to see the sunrise. Our balcony faces east. I didn't get to see the actual sun, but the effect was beautiful
I have an East facing balcony as well. Great seeing the sun rise from the sea. In about four days the sun will rise due east. That only happens twice a year on the equinox. Our Autumn will then begin.
@Carla no, that is a different phenomenon. I think I saw it once, when on Safari in the Serengeti. I thought I caught it on my camera, but looking at the images, i don't see it.
