I Love Summer

When will global warming get here? Every winter is longer and colder. My country is only warmer than Siberia because of the North Atlantic Drift. But that is fed by the Gulf Stream which gets weaker. My older sisters remember warm summers and you could wear shorts and t shirts.

Climate change does not affect every region in the same way. While the overall temperature of the earth is increasing, some flow patterns are changing and result in colder temperatures in localized areas.

@Blodyn that is why it is called "climate change" and not global warming, although overall global temperatures have increased.

global warming is fake news. its been getting colder over many years here. there is no global warming. parents remember blistering summers so hot you were drenched in sweet at midnight. and being able to wear shorts in the winter with a jacket. now many times in the summers here i am shivering shirtless in shorts at the various summer events line carnivals at night. last year it was in upper 50s at night in august and i was shivering big time at the fair shirtless.

@trackboy you didn't even read my comment. The correct description is climate change. There is absolutely no doubt that it is occurring at a greater rate than ever. The science is clear unless you care to ignore it. The wide swings in temperature, the extremes in weather, which by the way is not the same as climate, are all the result in just a minor increase in overall temperature. The loss of arctic ice has been dramatic. I don't give a darn if you believe that most of the change is or is not related to things msn has done, but the effect is incontrovertible!

@samueltyler2 the local talk radio show host said that the global warming people said it would be really warm by now. but instead it is a lot cooler. on coast to coast am one of the guests has a book out called not by fire but by ice. he says we are heading into a ice age. the sun is at the maunder minimum for sun spots. the last time that happened there was the little ice age in the 1600s.

@trackboy well, I have no idea who the local talk show host is, but, obviously, not a scientist. The science is clear. There are areas where what was dry land a few years ago is either already under water or is underwater after a small rain storm. The loss of diversity in flora and fauna is having more rapidly than ever before. We can only hope that we can find a way to slow or reverse the trend.

I know that big changes are occurring, Like the coral dying on the Great Barrier Reef. I belong to the South Wales Geological Association and a lecturer showed a map of global temperature change. Only a very few places showed a decrease. Including where I live.
I live at 52 degrees North. The same as Siberia. The only reason it isn’t minus 30 in winter is the ocean currents but they are changing. And our winters are getting much longer and colder. @samueltyler2

@samueltyler2 we been getting more snow later in spring when it used to be nice and warm weeks ago here. and summers have been getting cooler and cooler here. i froze shirtless at the fair in august. used to be you would be sweating at midnight in august.
