The humidity here is so thiccy thicc. Feels like the air is gonna burst.

I love a good storm. Out in the porch feeling and seeing it at night.

It has been thicc af for the last couple weeks here in Iowa. Had major storms yesterday, which actually helped me sleep, mind you, but today even though it only got to like 83 it felt like 93. I'm getting really sick of this summer. So ready for fall.

I think you may have mentioned in the past you might be near a beach. Being right near the beach, does a storm like this usually mean rough surf and crazy winds for you, or is it more of a quick coastal downpour?

Ours started at 5AM this morning and have been off and on ever since. The humidity has been oppressive and a few tornado watches and warnings just northeast of here.

The sound of thunder in the distance is soothing but as it gets closer and louder it becomes a bit concerning as the wind picks up. A quick window check and then there's a brilliant flash with an immediate crack of thunder. Long drawn out rolling blankets of sound interspersed with more flashes and bangs. Some responding quickly and some more distant. The rain falls in sheets suppressing the low rumbles but the flashes keep coming, reflecting off of the wet surfaces. The wind calms and the thunder recedes as the front passes, the rain slows to a shower and then to the irregular splashes and patterings as it falls from the roof and leaves to the ground below. The storm grumbles farewell and I fall asleep.
