When that happens here -- on a hot day, anyway -- I usually turn off our window air conditions so that when the power comes back on there isn't a huge surge that might blow the house circuit breakers. Can that REALLY happen -- I'm not sure, but I don;t take the chance.

A bomb wouldn’t trip my electricity grid. It’s so great here but I remember when I was a child there was a power outage constantly in the 90s. I get woken up by thunderstorms about once or twice every summer. I remember if I woke up in pitch black I would bury my head in my pillow too.
