I'm used to thunderstorms, lived with them all my life mostly

But the thunderstorms in South Carolina are different. The thunder here is so close to the ground, and it is really loud and booming. In the midwest the thunder tends to be high and rolling, with the occasional boom burst. In SC, the thunder happens so loud and without warning that you can get so startled you'll feel like you're going to jump out of your skin, haha!

The snow is very different too. You are in for a treat. (Sarcasm)

@Fungirlmmm I'll be glad for the very different snow, I've been getting very done with snow

@come2gether the snow here in SC is planted in fields and at the end of the season they roll it into giant vanilla tootsie rolls.
@TheShanachie Sounds tasty. I have a big sweet tooth.

New England doesn't get many thunderstorms interestingly. I lived in NE (Mass and Maine) for 5 years and only experienced maybe 10 in that time

I liked thunderstorms until this year. Now I have storm anxiety. :( between our SW Michigan town being hit by two tornados and the severe t-storm that did a bunch of damage 2 months later, I'm over it. -_-
Oh wow, and to think I like thunderstorms. I probably wouldn't like that area though if it's startling. Here in NY I honestly don't get too many thunderstorms.

Interesting observation. Do you live amid hills and deep valleys?

It's flat as a pancake here on the coast

@come2gether Thankyou. I have been in hilly country where that does seem to influence the local movement of thunderstorms.
