Not really. First, we are in a "El Nino" second, we have been seeing a number of weather anomalies the past couple of years. Here in Ca. we saw the largest amount of rainfall there has been in decades, (A real blessing for us because of a long lasting drought)

At one time the artic was more tropical, maybe the equator is sliding north - yay! climate change.
